MORGAN WARDWELL
LICENSED CLINICAL SOCIAL WORKER

I received my Master’s degree in Social Work from Texas State University in 2002 after having already worked in the field for over 10 years, becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in 2009. Being on the Autism Spectrum and also diagnosed with ADHD, I feel this gives me a sometimes unique perspective, helping me to connect with my clients in a way that is dissimilar from therapists they have had in the past. While working as a contractor for the U.S. Army I received extensive education and training as an instructor, facilitator and mediator, and as such enjoy providing my clients with psychoeducation on topics of their choice and facilitating support groups.
At this time I have worked in the mental health field for 35 years, practicing in Texas, Iowa, Illinois and Oregon, also having lived on three continents and worked extensively with LGBTQIA+, Native American, Asian, Middle-Eastern and alternative faith populations. As such I have been fortunate to work with a wide range of clients who have experienced a number of issues that include those related to veteran and military-related affairs, LGBTQIA+, Autism, cultural differences, developmental disabilities, trauma, grief, and life transitions. My preferred therapeutic approaches are Solution-Focused Therapy and Family Systems Therapy, as these are both strengths-based, enabling my clients to better utilize their own personal strengths and experience a positive change from their first session.
